Muslim students in their Islamic class colored pictures and made greeting cards related to the occasion. They took this home to share the joy of Eid al-Adha with their families.
We made a descriptive activity talking about the Islamic New Year (1438 Hjra). The reason for celebrating this occasion and the explanation of the migration of Prophet (PBUH) from Mecca to the Madina.
They created a puzzle piece in the style of a chosen artist to develop knowledge of international artist to become more internationally minded. Students learnt how to apply the basic elements of Art to their work, created an interactive work of Art and consider how the imagery they provide affects the viewer. Students produced patterns of line, shapes, space, pattern and tone. They learnt how to observe and draw objects by seeing, and can carry out the steps of observation, outlines, in lines, tone and final finishing of observation drawings.
As part of our unit of inquiry “Where we are in place and time” the Islamic department went on a field trip to Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi. The purpose of our trip is to learn more about the Islamic monuments and feel the Islamic spirit.
As part of our unit of inquiry “how we express ourselves” the Islamic department organized an assembly to celebrate Prophet Mohamad (PBUH) birthday.
