Learning the Scientific Method with Paper Airplanes in Grade 6A

This week, the students of Grade 6A learned about the Scientific method, as they conducted an investigation to determine the best design for a paper airplane.

Students collaborated together to create a scientific question, prediction, and method for testing their prediction.

Students made 3 different designs of paper airplanes (using scrap paper) to create a fair test.

Students measured off 1m intervals in the hallway to record how far their planes traveled.

Time to test the design of the planes! Students did 3 trials for each plane, to gather enough data to make conclusions.

They worked together to measure how far their plane traveled, recorded their measurements, and analyzed the data to come up with conclusions about the best design for a paper airplane.
